Trip To Hualian! Warning, lots of rocks and mountain photos:
We packed our bags, deposit our big lugagges to TS hotel and temporay check out. We gonna catch our train at 845am, so we head down to the cafe to have our quick breakfast first.

Freshly cooked carrot cake for breakfast. We din order this, the waiter took wrong order but dear was tempted by the smell so we just take it from her. For me I don't really like, still prefer our local one... but dear the usual, ate it all up haha.

Early morning make monkey face. I was cold and duno y I duno wad to pose when im still half asleep.

Here's the Taipei Railway Station, different from the MRT, because it's those olden types of train with auto sliding door at every cabin.

It's 16degree in Taipei when we got there and the cold air is blowing strongly, shoick! The tickets are quite confusing, everything is in Chinese and to go Hualian, there are several trains at differ entrance. The train will be there 5-10mins before departure time and they leave on the DOT! If we miss the train tts it, the tickets are always sold out in the morning.

Took a shot before heading in..

They have differ types of trains, express, normal and a few others.  Some will take 2hours to reach hualian while others may take 3.5hrs cos differ train takes differ route.

Forgot how we manage to take this photo in the train haha.

The seats are very spacious with in-bulit speakers hidden in the left and right cusion of the seat. Can play soft classic music if you want.

Some of the beautiful mountain and flowers scenery along the way.

They got a special cabinet where you can sing karaoke and a cafe area.

The classic auto sliding door.

We are finally here at Hualien Station! pwee that was a long train ride. We were really shock that the weather in Hualien is really hot!, we thought I be colder cos of the location, that's why we bought all the thick clothing over. But I got slightly cooler later in the night.

We arranged for the MingShu boss to pick up us at the train station. Ming Shu is like homestay, the boss which is the owner of the house will let us stay in her house, bring us ard to play and cook for us. I purposely choose Mingshu over hotel/motel to exp their lifestyle – is a nice experience!

The boss was busy that day, so she arranged for a guy to pick us up and bring us around for sightseeing.

First stop, he intro this wantan shop to us. He said is nice and we should try. There are Cheng Shui Bian pic and signature there to prove is good. I ate a few pieces and left shortly after tt, so I guess is pretty obvious wad’s my verdict hahaa

We ordered a normal Wantan and Prawn Wantan to give it a try.

Close up shot of the Wantan filling, seriously nothing fantastic about it, not even the soup tasted any good.

I ordered this funny look fruit drink haha, not bad actually.

After our lunch, he then drove us to this place where Bing Lan Mei are, he purposely slow down to let us have a look at the shop despite cars waiting behind us, road block the way. The shop is transparent wif the girls sitting inside. He even tell us which shop girl is prettier, cos she wear more lesser… -___- . But apparently today the Bing Lan Mei are on leave or something haha.

This place belong to no one, so I guess is gov land. They plant these flowers to beautify the place, so nice right?

Love this photo

Hualien is famous for rocks, mountains and more rocks and mountains haha. I'm serious!

Here we are, landed at the popular Tarako Park from the sky haha.

Here's one of the popular place in Hualien, the Shakadang River Valley, heard from our guide that last time the people there dig the whole passage for don't know how many years man.

The rockey pathway on the right is the Shakadang River Valley, we just walk half way and turn back haha lazy to walk finish.

Decided to use climb instead of walk haha maybe can find some shortcut

So many dangerous stuff here.

Giant me

Don't know what dear doing hahaha

Next location is the Eternal Spring Shrine. It was built in memory of the 450 retired servicemen who lost their lives building the highway through Taroko Gorge that runs right over the mountain connecting the east and west coasts of Taiwan

It's a beatiful place, heard the water from the mountain suddenly brust out and created this pure water place.

We spotted a temple very high up on the mountain.

A butterfly decided to park on my jeans :D

Woooo we gonna pass thru many tunnels like this to reach the shrine area, quite exciting.

All this weird looking shapes are actually created by dripping of waters that corrode the rocks for many many years.

Here we are at the shrine, check out how clean and pure the water is.. and it's drinkable.

We seems to bump on to dogs everywhere we go.

Next stop is the Swallow Grotto Trail, sorry ah.. more rocky mountain photos again haha.

Can you see all those big and small holes? those are the home of the swallows.

Now we going to show you a series of very very cool and intresting mountain photos. Can you see anything in this photo? can you spot the wolf head? (Mouse over the photo to reveal)

How about this? see anything? can you spot two indiana face?

Let's zoom in a little, now can you see it heehee? (Mouse over the photo to reveal)

Here's one at the very top.

This should be pretty easy. can you see the giant white snake? (Mouse over the photo to reveal)

Dear try to par kungfu.

The driver then bring us to this mining place where we need to wear safely helmet because pieces of small rocks might just fall on your head, What's so scary is one Japanese tourist actually was killed by falling rocks last week at another location.

Here's a video of the place (Click video to play)

The driver drove us to this fish market to see some of their big catch like this one in the photo, super huge, almost as tall as the man.

Oh looky, beach!

What's different about this beach is there are no sand, it's all rocks! haha it's really a rocky place man.

Haha that's me up there picking up nice rocks to be painted on later.

Lol the uncle found a dead puffer fish, looks cute.

We were bit hungry, so uncle intro us this super duper nice snack from Hualien call "Chong Yu Pin" for only 20TWD (around 80cent SGD). We totally love it, that's explain the crowd around the store.

Good thing the uncle preorder from the auntie, so ah dear went to collect it.

Check this out! we not sure what is it made of, but there are eggs in it, and it's very addictive!

We are finally here at our Mingsu "Stone House 石頭的家"

Check out our nice and cozy bed keekee

With Tv and hanger but no wardrobe o_o

Ours is on the 2nd floor with balcony

Our balcony view.

After we took some rest at the Stonehouse, 劉阿姨(Stonehouse owner) arranged the driver to bring us out and showed us where are to good place to have our dinner. So we went to try out this.

We ordered this Pork rice I think, it's really good, can't remember how much it cost.

And this haha. yummy!

Posing with my yummy plate of food

After our dinner, we walked around the area and decided to head back, so we rang our driver to pick us up. While we are waiting, we saw this timsum store that sell Xiao Long Bao! so we give it a try.

Well, it's not really the XLB that we expect, it does have the XLB taste but there are no soup in it, it tasted more like chicken bao to me.

劉阿姨 pick us up and ask us to try out their Mala Mian, we actually were too full to try but we think think, since we are here... y not haha.

Here you can choose which vegetable or item you want in your Mala Mian, 劉阿姨 helped us to order the minimum spice one to just have a taste of the flavor.

Here you go, I quite like the soup base cos it got a herbs kind of taste, too bad dear don't really like it.
